The following ishis introductory letter to the membership. It’s hard to describe the emotions I haveabout coming back to serve at Trinity. Joyand excitement are two, thoughthey hardly seem enough. Trinityholds a special place in the life ofour family. Melanie and I joinedTrinity shortly after we married. We welcomed both of our sonsinto the world while members, baptized them as part of thecommunity, and have entrusteda good portion of their care anddevelopment to the day school. It was Trinity that played animportant role in affirming God’scall on my life, and the life of our family,as I entered into ministry. To say the leastmy family and I are overjoyed to return tocommunity with you. We are blessed by theopportunity. And we are thrilled to call Trinityhome again! Our familiarity brings with it possibility.Throughout the application and interviewprocess so much possibility filled myimagination. The dedication and love Rev.Hynes gave to us is evident in all our programs;a legacy I relish in as once a participant andnow a steward. So too does the work of ourcongregation during the Visioning processorder my steps. With such an amazing placefrom which to start I want to share with yousome thoughts on where I plan to begin. Inthe months between now and when thatI step into the position full time I intend tofocus on our core strengths ineducational programs. We haveso many wonderful and wellestablished options for Christianeducation that providing youwith support and guidance tobuild on this strength is a toppriority. With that said, there ismuch opportunity to developdisciples and grow communitybeyond study that is given to mystewardship. We are all blessed, and I especially so, to have awonderful staff dedicated to ministry for allages. Rest assured the existing staff I havethe pleasure to partner with is excellent, andthose ministries too will receive the care mylove for our community engenders. Beyondthese initial goals, I will work to match thededication you have for laity-led ministry as Ifollow throughout our congregation and intothe world with the love I have for you. Indeed,I greatly look forward to our strengthening inconnection and love as we worship, grow andserve together in recognition and acceptanceof God’s love for us through Jesus Christ.Hynes Senior TravelScholarship FundEstablishedAn anonymous gift to Trinity hasestablish a Travel Scholarship Fundin honor of Reverend Barbara Hynes. This scholarship will benefit seniorsseeking to travel with our “TrinityTrekkers” on their excursions aroundthe state and beyond.
