A FAX OR SOME OTHERDEVICE ON THE SAME LINE COULD BE ANSWERING BEFORE THE CAT UNITMODEM.3.- TELCO VOLTAGE: MEASURE DC VOLTS ON SCREWS OF TERMINALBARRIER STRIP BETWEEN THE TIP AND RING. WHEN USING ADB9 PLUG VERIFIY THAT IT IS PROPELY INSERTED.TEST YOUR COMMUNICATION AGAIN.3.- MAKE A “LOOP BACK” TEST: REMOVE THE “TX” AND “RX” WIRES FROMCAT SERIAL BOARD, AND TEMPORARILY CONNECT THEM TOGETHER.RUN A TERMINAL PROGRAM AND WHATEVER YOU TYPE SHOULD ECHOBACK TO THE SCREEN.IF ECHO IS OK .
