Bachelor of Arts in Music Master of Nonprofit ManagementGPA Requirements: All music degree programs are selective access, and require an audition forentry. Entry into the Master of Nonprofit Management requires a minimum GPA of 3.25 in the last 60credit hours.Shared Coursework:The BA/MNM combined degree program enables outstanding students to graduate with both aBachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Nonprofit Management in as little as five years. Theprogram is 153 credits. Students complete 120 credits for the undergraduate degree and 33 creditsfor the graduate degree. Students complete the undergraduate degree first, taking no more thannine credits of graduate coursework during their senior year, which then satisfy requirements for bothdegrees. Prospective students must formally apply to this program and meet all admissionrequirements.The BA in Music includes 37 elective credits, at least 23 of which must be upper division, and nine inthe Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. Up to 9 graduate level credits in the MNM couldserve as these BA elective credits, although this combination would function with a minimum of 6shared credits.

Schmidt College of Arts and Letters offer a combined Bachelor of Arts in Music to Master of NonprofitManagement degree program. The Bachelor of Arts in Music will be completed from the Department of Music. Studentswill do the Master of Nonprofit Management in the School of Public Administration.Students may count up to 9 credits of approved graduate coursework (5000 level or higher) toward both their bachelor’sand master’s degrees as long as the combined program totals a minimum of 153 credits and:1.2.The student has met the minimum 120 credits for the bachelor’s degree; and,The student has taken a minimum of 33 credits in the 5000 level or higher courses for the master’s program.Students complete the undergraduate program first. The combined program can be completed in approximately five years.Admission RequirementsThe GRE requirement is waived for the combined program. To be eligible for the combined program, the bachelor’sstudents in the Department of Music should:1.2.Have a cumulative FAU GPA of 3.25 or better at the end of the junior year.Formally apply to the combined program, completing the admissions process at least one semester prior to thebeginning of the M.N.M. portion of their program.Students in the combined program must maintain continuous enrollment to remain in good standing. It is open to preservice students as well as managers and leaders in human services, fine and performing arts, andcultural, educational, community development, religious, environmental and other nonprofit organizations. The curriculum recognizesthe special concerns of nonprofit organizations in such areas as: management of volunteers and professionals; resource developmentand fundraising; governance by volunteer boards of trustees and directors; management of multiple sources and types of funding;unique legal and regulatory issues; special values of service, community and charity; and the unique demands of nonprofit leadership.Duplication and Recency of CreditsExcept for students enrolled in the Combined B.A./M.N.M. program, no credit counted as part of another degree may be countedtoward the M.N.M. All work toward the M.N.M. must be completed within seven years after initial registration in the program.Transfer CreditAcceptance of transfer credits from approved institutions depends on the relevance of the work to the M.N.M. program. Request fortransfer credits should be made at the time of admission and is limited to 6 credits in which the student earned a minimum grade of "B."Students may use the petition process to transfer more than 6 credits. Credits older than seven years may not be transferred to thegraduate program.Degree RequirementsThe faculty of the College will recommend awarding the Master of Nonprofit Management degree when the followingrequirements have been met:

1. Completion of 33 credits of approved coursework with no grade below "C," (including "C-") with a minimum averagegrade of "B" (3.0 on a 4.0 scale).2.
