P a g e - 26 - ARMA Gate Installation Instructions (Rev. A) 8. Gate Assembly Tensioning (revised procedure) THE GATE FRAME SEGMENTS ARE DELIVERED WITH CABLE ASSEMBLIES PRE-TENSIONED. This procedure is used only if the cable assemblies needed to be re tensioned in the field. 8.1. CONFIRM TRUCKS ARE LEVEL, BEFORE TENSIONING. 8.2. Complete the following steps from the secured side of Gate. (Figure 2-P) 8.3. Center Gate between Right Post (RP) and Left Post (LP). With your choice of tool to prevent Eye Bolt from spinning, loosen Cable Assemblies by backing off all 5/16” Eye Bolt Nut with 1/2” wrench. (See figure2-P) 8.4. Tie mason line to 3/8” End Stop Bolts as tight as possible to minimize string sag. With the Gate centered between (RP and LP), step back until you can see the full length of Gate. From there you will see how much the Gate ends sag compared to the center. (See figure 2-P) 8.5. The following steps shown are for a seven section Gate. Your Gate size may differ but the procedure remains the same. 8.6. POSITION YOURSELF AT EITHER END OF GATE LOOKING ACROSS TOP EXTRUSION. FROM HERE YOU WILL SEE ALL RISES, DIPS AND BOWS. MAKE MENTAL NOTE FOR FUTURE INSPECTION AFTER EACH COMPLETE TENSIONING CYCLE. YOU ARE NOT TRYING TO CORRECT IMPERFECTIONS BUT PREVENT THEM FROM WORSENING. 927 Alloy Drive, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 5Z8 www.cmssi.com Phone: 807.623.3352 Fax: 807.623.8257 Toll Free: 1.800.371.0735

P a g e - 27 - ARMA Gate Installation Instructions (Rev. A) (Figure 3-D) 8.7. WHEN TENSIONING OF A SEVEN SECTION GATE IS COMPLETE, (C-5 THRU 7) WILL HAVE TWO LIFTING CABLES PER CELL AND (C-1 THRU 4) WILL HAVE ONE LIFTING AND ONE NON LIFTING CABLE. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO OVER TIGHTEN SECTIONS WITH TWO LIFTING CABLES AS THEY WILL BE FIGHTING EACH OTHER AND WILL LOOSE THERE EFECTIVINESS. A DIAGRAM SHOWING THE TENSIONING PATTERN HAS BEEN PROVIDED FOR A SEVEN SECTION GATE. MAKE A SKETCH IF YOUR GATE IS DIFFERENT. (See figure 3-D) 8.8. The following steps will be repeated until the Gate is within acceptable tolerance for level, see steps 8.23 and 24. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN CABLE ASSEMBLIES WHILE TENSIONING. (Figure 3-E) 8.9.
