Understanding Assistive Technology . Assistive technology (AT) is a classification of technologies specific to individuals with disabilities. In schools, classifying technology as AT is important. It allows that technology to be documented as part of an Individualized Education Program

Uses of assistive technology, its benefits and obstacles, are reviewed. The results provide indications why technology is often abandoned. Implications for practitioners and researchers are discussed in it [8]. A literature review was conducted with the objective to evaluate the usability of assistive technology to the people with dementia.
