CHICAGO IL, 60652. THE CABLING SYSTEM SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO HORIZONTAL AND BACKBONE CABLE DISTRIBUTION, CABLE SUPPORT, TERMINATION AND LABELING COMPONENTS. AS WELL AS THE BUILD OUT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT ROOM WITH WIRE MANAGEMENT AND CONVEYANCE COMPONENTS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TRACE, TEST AND LABEL ANY CABLES THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY LABELED. B. THE PRINCIPAL BID FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE BASED ON A CATEGORY 5E AND/OR CATEGORY 6 STRUCTURED CABLING SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY: MATCH EXISTING CABLE AND TERMINATION MANUFACTURER. THE PRINCIPAL BID FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE BASED ON HARDWARE COMPONENTS MANUFACTURED BY: MATCH EXISTING CABLE AND TERMINATION MANUFACTURER. REFERENCED STANDARDS AND CODES C. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A PROPOSAL FOR ALL LABOR AND MATERIAL TO INSTALL A COMPLETE STRUCTURED CABLING SYSTEM (SCS), INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ALL REQUIRED CABLING, RACKS, PATCH PANELS, SUPPORT HARDWARE, CROSS CONNECTS, PATCH CORDS, RACEWAYS, TELECOMMUNICATIONS OUTLETS, ETC. SCS SHALL BE INSTALLED AND CONFIGURED TO PROVIDE VOICE AND DATA CONNECTIVITY FROM EACH TELECOMMUNICATIONS OUTLET TO THE VOICE NETWORK/SWITCH OR DATA NETWORK/SWITCH DESIGNATED AS THE SERVICE POINT OF THE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK. 2. LEAD INSTALLER SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5-YEARS OF INSTALLATION WORK EXPERIENCE RUNNING PROJECTS. 2. BE EXPERIENCED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE WORK REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT AND SHALL BE REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE DIRECT EXPERIENCE ON RECENTLY INSTALLED SYSTEMS OF SIMILAR SIZE AND TYPE. 3. CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO VISIT THE SITE, AND THOROUGHLY BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE BUILDING STANDARDS AND LOCAL CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE WORK. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR OF THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE CONTRACT. d 4. COMPLETE END TO END CERTIFICATION RESULTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE CLIENT AND EOR IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT. NO HAND WRITTEN TEST RESULTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. IF SPECIAL SOFTWARE OR LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO REVIEW CERTIFICATION DATA ELECTRONICALLY, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ONE COPY OF SOFTWARE AND APPROPRIATE LICENSE WITH EACH SET OF CERTIFICATION DATA. 4. EACH GROUNDING BUSBAR (TMGB & TGB) AND GROUNDING CONDUCTORS MUST BE LABELED PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF ANSI/TIA-607 STANDARD, INCLUSIVE OF ALL ADDENDA. LABELS SHALL BE NON-METALLIC. 7. CONTRACTOR SHALL TERMINATE CONDUITS AND INSTALL CONDUIT SLEEVES INTO THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ROOM(S). 6. ALL TELECOMMUNICATIONS CABLING INSTALLED WITHIN OPEN CEILING SPACES SHALL BE ROUTED THROUGH THESE SPACES PERPENDICULAR TO AND A MINIMUM OF 12 INCHES FROM ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS AND DEVICES. THE PROXIMITY OF CABLING TO SOURCES OF RFI AND EMI SHALL BE CONSIDERED WHEN INSTALLING CABLE. 1. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A COMPLETE EMPTY METAL RACEWAY SYSTEM CONSISTING OF ALL CONDUIT, CABLE TRAY, LADDER TRAY, FITTINGS, BUSHINGS, PULL BOXES (PLENUM APPROVED AS REQUIRED), OUTLET BOXES, ETC. FOR A FULLY FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ELECTRONIC FORMATTED AS-BUILT DRAWINGS TO OWNER AND ENGINEER OF RECORD (EOR) IN AN ELECTRONIC FORMAT AS DETERMINED BY OWNER UPON COMPLETION OF PROJECT. CATEGORY RATED CABLES SHALL NOT EXCEED 295FT OF INSTALLED LENGTH IN THE PERMANENT LINK. 5. ALL CABLE RUNS BETWEEN THE TERMINATION HARDWARE AND THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OUTLET SHALL BE CONTINUOUS WITHOUT ANY SPLICES. 2.4. PATHWAY SYSTEMS EQUIPMENT RACK/CABINETS: PROVIDE A SAMPLE OF PLANNED EQUIPMENT LABELING (PLACEMENT, TEXT, FONT AND SIZE) TWISTED PAIR CABLE (INCLUDES ALL CATEGORIES): 4. CABLES SHALL NOT BE ATTACHED TO OR SUPPORTED BY FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS COMPONENTS OR ANY ENVIRONMENTAL SENSOR LOCATED IN THE CEILING SPACE. COPPER PATCH CORDS ARE REQUIRED AS NOTED IN PATCH CORD TABLE IN DRAWINGS. CONTRACTOR SHALL USE EXISTING PATHWAYS WHEN POSSIBLE AND MATCH EXISTING WHEN INSTALLING ADDITIONAL PATHWAYS. THE SCS INSTALLATION SHALL FOLLOW ALL RECOGNIZED INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES AND SHALL BE PERFORMED IN A NEAT AND WORKMAN LIKE MANNER. 3. CABLES SHALL NOT BE ATTACHED TO CEILING GRID SUPPORTS AND SHALL NOT BE LAID DIRECTLY ON THE CEILING GRID. 2.3. PATCH CORDS 3. ALL GROUNDING CONNECTIONS SHALL BE IRREVERSIBLE; COMPRESSION OR THERMAL WELD. MECHANICAL SCREW-ON LUGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. 6. ALL CONDUIT BENDS SHALL BE WIDE RADIUS TYPE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PULL BOXES (PLENUM RATED WHERE REQUIRED) FOR ALL RUNS WHERE MORE THAN 180 DEGREES OF CONDUIT BENDS OCCUR OR WHERE A CONDUIT RUN EXCEEDS 100 LINEAR FEET, SIZE AND LOCATE PULL BOXES AS REQUIRED DUE TO EXISTING FIELD CONDITIONS, AND TO COMPLY WITH CODES AND REGULATIONS.
