Configuring Audio Input and OutputAfter you install the included motherboard drivers, make sure your Internet connection works properly. the systemwill automatically install the audio driver from Microsoft Store. Restart the system after the audio driver is installed.1-1Configuring 2/4/5.1/7.1-Channel AudioThe motherboard provides five audio jacks on the backpanel which support 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel (Note) audio.The picture to the right shows the default audio jackassignments.Center/SubwooferSpeaker OutLine InRear Speaker OutFront Speaker OutMic InTo configure 4/5.1/7.1-channel audio, you have to retask either the Line in or Mic in jack to be Sidespeaker out through the audio driver.A. Configuring SpeakersStep 1:Go to the Start menu click the Realtek Audio Console.Step 2:Connect an audio device to an audio jack *. The Whichdevice did you plut in ? dialog box appears. Configuring Sound EffectYou may configure an audio environment on the Speakers tab.C. Enabling Smart Headphone AmpThe Smart Headphone Amp feature automatically detectsimpedance of your head-worn audio device, whetherearbuds or high-end headphones to provide optimalaudio dynamics. To enable this feature, connect yourhead-worn audio device to the Line out jack on the frontpanel and then go to the Realtek HD Audio 2nd outputpage. Enable the Smart Headphone Amp feature. TheHeadphone Power list below allows you to manually setthe level of headphone volume, preventing the volumefrom being too high or too low.* Configuring the HeadphoneWhen you connect your headphone to the Line out jack on the back panel or front panel, make sure the defaultplayback device is configured correctly.Step 1:Locate the icon in the notification area and right-clickon this icon. Configuring S/PDIF Out:On the Realtek Digital Output screen, Select the samplerate and bit depth in the Default Format section.-4-

1-3Stereo MixThe following steps explain how to enable Stereo Mix (which may be needed when you want to record soundfrom your computer).Step 1:Locate the icon in the notification area and right-clickon this icon. Select Sounds.Step 2:On the Recording tab, right-click on Stereo Mix item andselect Enable. Then set it as the default device. (if you donot see Stereo Mix, right-click on an empty space andselect Show Disabled Devices.)Step 3:Now you can access the HD Audio Manager to configureStereo Mix and use Voice Recorder to record the sound.-5-
