This will ensure thatthe EasyStand Magician ei is assembled properly and then used in the mostbeneficial manner for your child.Should any problem arise that you cannot solve by reading this manual, pleasecontact your local dealer, visit our website (www.easystand.com), or callAltimate Medical, Inc. at 1-800-342-8968.It is important that you inspect your EasyStand Magician ei periodically toassure that it is in safe operating condition. Minor adjustments can be made bythe attendant. Replacement of worn parts, major adjustments, or any otherimportant corrections should be handled by an authorized dealer or service center. Only Altimate Medical, Inc. approved replacement parts should be used toensure safety and performance.The EasyStand Magician ei should not be used by any individual without firstconsulting a qualified physician. Failure to consult a qualified physician priorto using the EasyStand Magician ei could lead to severe medical problems. Werecommend that a standing program be established and supervised by a qualified medical doctor or therapist. Safety PrecautionsAssembly1 Altimate Medical Inc. recommends that you consult with your therapist orphysician prior to starting a standing program.Place the base onto the floor andlock the casters.If you ordered the mobile option,open the mobile option box andinsert the front drive wheels. Check your EasyStand periodically to make sure that all nuts, bolts andadjustable parts are tightened securely. Never reposition the foot holders with a child in the standing position. Consultwith your therapist or doctor for proper foot placement and angle. The EasyStand is for indoor use only. If you ordered casters or the mobile option, you should always put the castersand/or wheels in the locked position before transferring into the EasyStand.Use these locks whenever you want to keep the EasyStand stationary.2Attach the footplates to theseating system legs. The knobsmust face outward. Move thefootplates halfway up the legs andtighten the locking knobs. Do not use the mobile option on ramps or uneven floors. Always use the EasyStand Magician ei under adult supervision only. Always fully support the child while gently raising and lowering the unit. Be sure that all knobs are tightened securely before raising the unit.3Place tab on seat assembly into sloton base as shown.page 3page 4safety precautionsassembly

4Make sure tab fits firmly into theframe slot.5Insert the bolts from the bag tosecure the seating assembly to thebase. Tighten securely.78Place pins into bottom holes tosecure H-frame.Loosen knobs to place table intotable brackets.Warning: Failure to bolt unitsecurely will make the unit unstableand dangerous to the end user.6Insert the H-frame into the baseverticals.9Remove the hex bolts from thefront pad and attach it to themounting bracket on the table.Tighten bolts securely.page 5page 6assemblyassembly

Options10 Insert the table into the verticals on theH-frame.Angle Adjustable TableThe angle adjustable table mountsinto the frame verticals. Assemblyinstructions are included with thetable.Depress the spring button to con-11 tinue installation.Ball Adapters/ Head SupportThe spring button will stop in themaximum height position.Insert head support into bracketbehind back. Depress spring buttonto lower headrest into place.Depress the spring button again tolower the table.Tighten knob securely.Turn the knobs to tighten.Note: There is only one spring buttonEasyStand Magician ei is now12 Yourready. For instructions on how to useyour stander refer to the “Usage andAdjustments” section.Chest VestInsert straps from chest vest intoclips on the back of the unit andtighten as desired.page 7page 8assemblyoptions

AdjustmentsIndependent Knee PadsPlace knee brackets into slots.Note: Oval washer is placedbetween knee pad bracket andmounting bracket.Seat Depth1.(1.) Loosen locking knob.(2.) Depress the spring button onthe adjustment tube and move upthree increments in your intendeddirection.(3.) Loosen seat depth knob andslide seat into place.2.3.Tighten locking knob securely.Table Swing-away SleeveRemove H-frame and place swingaway sleeve onto either right or leftframe vertical.The seat depth indicator is locatedunder the seat.Back AngleMobile OptionRefer to the assembly instructionsthat you received with the mobileunit.(1.) Loosen the locking knob.(2.) Depress the spring button andposition the back until the greenangle indicator shows up in the angleindicator window.1.2.Tighten locking knob securely.page 9page 10optionsadjustments

Footplates Height/ AnglePositioning(1.) Loosen the locking knob, placeone foot on the base frame and lift.(2.) Tighten locking knob indesired position.1.2.To adjust the angle and height ofthe footplates loosen the knobs(fig. A).Move footplates to desired position(fig. B).Tighten securely.fig. Bfig. Tighten securely.NOTE: Width adjustment on theindependent knee is accomplishedon the base.Standard KneeIndependent KneeTo adjust swivel loosen the knobunder the footplates (fig. C). Moveto desired position (fig. D) andtighten securely.fig. CKneepad DepthLoosen the knob as shown andadjust depth. Tighten securely. Ifyou have the optional independentadjustable kneepads you will haveseparate depth adjustments.fig. DFootplates InvertedFor taller children you may need toinvert the footplate. Remove thequick adjust knob and allen headbolt. Take the left footplate, bracketand clamp, invert it top to bottomand mount on the right side. Removefootplate and mount on the top.Repeat process for the other side.NOTE: Do not over tighten allenhead bolt.page 11page 12adjustmentsadjustments

Using your EasyStandMagician ei Parts DetailPOSITIONING To lift the child to a standing position, loosen the knobs on the table verticals, lift the table tothe approximate height and tighten the knobs. Slide the table forward slightly and tighten theappropriate knobs.Loosen the locking knob and lift gently on the handles. You can stop at any position. Afterthe child is standing you can readjust the table as needed. To return to the seated position,loosen the locking knob and lower the seat.FOOT HOLDERS Consult with your therapist or doctor for proper foot placement and angle.Foot holders should be raised/lowered so that the knee is as close to the seat pivot as possible.Never reposition the foot holders while the user is in the standing position.The foot holders can be independently adjusted in swivel, height, and pivot.To adjust the swivel or pivot of the foot holders, loosen the quick adjust handles on eachfoot holder clamp. When you find the desired foot position, tighten the handles securely. To adjust the height, loosen the same quick adjust handle of the foot holder clamp.Tighten securely.MOBILE OPTION Do not use the mobile option on ramps, uneven surfaces or outdoors.Before transferring into the EasyStand with the Mobile Option, make sure that the castersand the push rim locking mechanisms are in the locked position. Use these locks whenyou want to keep the EasyStand stationary.KNEE PAD The knee support should be snug when you are in the seated position. Adjust the footholders so that the user’s knees are as close to the seat pivot point as possible. Knee padcan be adjusted in all directions.(If necessary, the knee pad bracket can be inverted on the frame for further adjustment)FRONT PAD When in the standing position, the front pad should support your upper body. Adjustthe tray height and depth so you feel comfortable. The front pad can also beindependently adjusted for proper height and it can be inverted as the adjustmentholes are offset allowing further adjustment variations.MAINTENANCE Clean the EasyStand with a mild non-abrasive disinfectant or soap and water.The covering of the seat, back, knee and headrest may be removed and hand washedin a mild soap and water and air dried. Always use care when removing and replacingfabric covering.Check your EasyStand periodically to make sure that all nuts, bolts and adjustable partsare tightened securely.page 13page 14using your easystandparts detail
