A VIEW TO THE FUTUREBren’s BanterDear Families and FriendsOn Monday afternoon I was lucky enough to attend the EDECSwimming Trials at Belgrave Aquatic Centre in which 22 of ourstudents competed. I was hugely impressed with not only howwell our students performed, but also with how well and howproudly they represented their school. It’s always a lovelyexperience seeing kids that are just happy to be competing andtrying their best. Hmmm reminds me of ourGembrook Primary School Song!Start Up Program CelebrationOn Tuesday we came together as a whole school to celebratethe completion of our 2017 Start Up Program. Our Start UpProgram has proven to be an excellent way to set all students upfor a great year of learning. The program assists in establishingagreed routines, procedures and expectations as well asinitiating agreed norms in relation to reading, writing and mathlessons. Our school values of Respect & High Expectationsare investigated and discussed and working as a united team is adefinite priority. It was fantastic seeing all students gathered inthe Circle of Harmony, participating in their class ‘flag’ paradeand then singing our new Gembrook School Song for theVERY FIRST time with great gusto and enthusiasm! Thanks toall mums, dads, carers and family members who came along tojoin in the celebration. Great job everyone!Prep parents welcome afternoon teaAll Prep parents and parents who are new to our school are invited to a cuppa and afternoon tea in the staff room on Friday17th February at 3:00pm.
