Tata Power Green EnergyLimited ( TPGEL), the Company’s wholly ownedsubsidiary, has received a Letter of Award from TataPower Mumbai Distribution to develop a 225 MWhybrid renewable project.Harnessing Wind EnergyTata Power has an installed capacity of 932 MW andplants spread across five states of Maharashtra, Gujarat,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka , Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand,Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan the leading states inpromoting wind power generation in India8

Waste Gas GenerationTata Power has set up various plants at Haldia and inJamshedpur (Power 6) based on the blast furnace andcoke oven gases which are waste gases from steel makingprocess which help in reducing greenhouse gas emissionsignificantly. It’s looking at other similar projects with TataSteel. Tata Power through its Joint Venture companyIndustrial Energy Limited (IEL), has successfullycommissioned 2 units of 67.5 MW each of the 202.5 MWIEL, Kalinganagar - Orissa project. The company’s installedgenerating capacity from waste gas generation stands at375 MW.New and Service-Led BusinessesNew and Service-Led Businesses The Company is lookingto scale-up its service businesses, i.e. businesses (EVCharging, Home Automation, Distribution services,Thermal O&M services solar rooftop and solar EPC) and isalso evaluating opportunities in emerging business areassuch as microgrids, rooftop solar, energy efficiencysolutions and EV charging stations. It has collaboratedwith Tata Motors Limited to roll-out EV charginginfrastructure and aims to expand its presence further inhigh EV adoption cities in India. The Company has alsolaunched its rooftop services program in more than 90cities.captive charging through different models andapproaches.TP Renewable Microgrid (TPRMG) is set to roll out 10,000microgrids to provide innovative solutions for the underserved communities and expand the global microgridfootprint . A satisfied Customer baseServicing over 11.5 million Customers across the CountryMumbai DistributionTata Power has a customer base of over 7 lakh directcustomers in Mumbai and on an average about 6,500million units (MU) are sold in a year. Some of its bulkcustomers include BEST, Port Trust, BARC, Refineries andother important installations in Mumbai. As in all parts ofthe business, improvement in operational efficiency is akey focus area. Tata Power has taken number of initiativesto improve the quality and reliability of its power supplyand enhance customer service.Delhi DistributionThe Company’s partnership for distribution with theState Government of Delhi for its North Delhi customers,Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (previously knownas North Delhi Power Limited), is the only success story ofprivatisation in India. This company serves over 1.6million customers (from a population of 4.5 million)spread over in an area of 510 sq. kms and has a peak loadof 1852 MW. Since its formation in 2002, the company haslaunched a series of technological improvements forupgrading reliability and other customer services.Measures like energy audits, replacement of old metersTata Power Corporate Profile 2020with theft-proof electronic meters, automated meterreading, aggressive enforcement and publicawareness drives have reduced the current ATC losspercentage to well below the target loss levelpercentage that has been committed to the regulatoryauthorities. TPDDL is automating its grids, mappingthe network (for quicker fault location and isolation)and automating the outage management system onthe Geographical Information System (GIS) platform.Ajmer DistributionTata Power has signed a Distribution FranchiseeAgreement (DFA) with Ajmer Vidyut Vitran NigamLimited (AVVNL) to cater to the power requirements ofcustomers in Ajmer for a period of 20 years. To serve thepurpose, Tata Power has formed a Special PurposeVehicle (SPV) “TP Ajmer Distribution Limited” (TPADL),which will be responsible for operating andmaintaining the distribution network in Ajmer City,which includes City Division-I and City Division-II areas.It will also be responsible for managing the billing andcollections in the said areas.10

The Companydistributes power in the entire state of Odisha with atotal customer base of 9 million.Customer Care InitiativesThe Company has various Customer Care initiativesafter going retail. These initiatives include opening up ofexclusive Customer Care Centres and bill paymentcenters for cash and cheque collection at variouscentres. Various new collection centers have beenopened up across Mumbai for collection of newconnection application forms. Several new bill paymentkiosks and electronic drop boxes have been introducedto facilitate easy payments for the customers whichhave instant payment acknowledgement facility. TheCompany has also developed the customer informationTata Power Corporate Profile 2020portal for its customers offering various online facilitiessuch as bill payment, Billing information, PaymentHistory and online form filling for new Power Supplyconnection. The Tata Power Mobile App is speciallydesigned to be an exclusive platform to help customersand other stakeholders to connect and directly engagewith the company. The mobile app includes key featuressuch as Account overview; Bill Payment at fingertips;Meter Reading details; Monthly Consumption trend;Bills and Payment history of previous 12 months,Notifications alerts; Zone-wise Outage/Shutdowninformation; Registration for e-bill and e-services etc.Tata Power is also the first Power Utility in Mumbai tointroduce Printing of Dynamic Bharat QR code on its billfor payments and introduced WhatsApp service forcustomers. Tata Power is the first Indian utility to openmultiple ‘All-Women’ Customer Relations Centres acrossIndia in a Mumbai, delhi and ajmer.11

On a Multi-Fold Growth pathresidential rooftop solution across India, acrossmultiple cities which are expected to saveconsumers upto 50,000 annually for 25 years.TPSSL also commissioned the World’s largestsolar rooftop installation on a cricket stadium, of820.8kWp, at Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.Continuing the Growth JourneylTata Power ser ves more than 11.5 milliondistribution consumers across Mumbai, Delhi,Ajmer and entire state of Odisha. The Companylaunched innovative value-added consumerser vice initiatives like K now Your EnergyConsumption (KYEC ), Power Rewards andVoiceBOT, to e-Wallet payments and WhatsAppService. The license is being offered for 25 years .CESU is spread over 30,000 Sq km with population ofover 1.4 Crore and consumer base of 2.5 million.llTata Power has already installed 540 chargingstations in various cities, including Delhi, Mumbai,Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad, and other cities .Central Railway Collaborates with UNEP & TataPower to Launch Electric Vehicle Charging Pointsat Mumbai’s Railway Stations . The Company hasjoined hands with MG Motor India to deploySuperfast chargers at select MG Dealerships.TP Ajmer Distribution Limited (TPADL) managed apeak load of 112.05 MW in Ajmer city, during themonth of June 2018. This is the highest peak loadcatered to by power distribution assets in the lasttwo years in the city, managed comfortably due toextensive work towards the maintenance of 33 kVand 11 kV lines which also led to a reduction intripping by 31% and 45% respectively.Tata Power Corporate Profile 2020lTata Power is the first Indian utility to openmultiple ‘All-Women’ Customer Relations Centresacross India in a major move to address its womencustomers better. The Company and SIDBI have joined handsto design a unique Solar financing solution for theMSME customers helping them switch to rooftopsolar without any collateral at an interest rate lessthan 10%.13

The Club started in 2007 with 12 schools inMumbai and has today become a nationwide movementreaching about 500 schools and covering ten cities Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad,Jamshedpur, Lonavla and Belgaum. Over the last severalyears, it has reached out to number of schools in India andhas sensitised over 29 million citizens who in turn havehelped save more than 33 million units of electricity tilldate. This saving is equivalent to saving 25,000 tonnes ofCO2. Club Enerji program is now more than 10 years old.In FY15, Tata Power Club Enerji has launched an onlinemodule of the Club Enerji programme. The module ishosted on the Club Enerji website. The objective of thisinitiative is to reach out to a larger audience and impact alarger group of IT skilled children with a vision totransform by adopting a holistic and robust approachtowards conservation.
