This has resulted in a comprehensive rangeof sealing solutions from basic rolling seals, sliding joints,pre-lubricated systems to fully integrated joints where theseal is cast into the concrete unit during manufacturing. Wealso supply manhole seals with an integrated load distributorelement which transmits vertical loads through joint whilstpreventing concrete to concrete contact and thereby potentialstructural failure.Ductile Iron applicationsWhile most varieties of cast iron are brittle, ductile iron ismuch more flexible and elastic, due to its nodular graphiteinclusions. Trelleborg manufactures seals for ductile iron pipeapplications for water, sewerage and drainage. Examples areseals for pipelines carrying water and hydrocarbon fluids(STD-seal, double hardness seal).8
