SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSBC32DAPull the cover end (behind D)through the core from 2 to 3.CB3A2DAD34Pull the section 2 to 3 towards Das tightly as possible. Pull out theyarns marked before and cut themoff for even tapering. Taper theremaining yarns at the tip.

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSBring section 2 to 3 back into position. D and 2 must be in the sameplace. Fix with two to three stitchesusing e.g. whipping twine of 0,5mm.CB32DAEven out cover and core. At markC, where the core exits the cover,add a marking on the core. Pull thecore out further, make a straightcut, unravel the rope end for 6 cmand taper the tip along those 6 cm.3BCD 2APull hard to get the cover in place. .5

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSPull out core and fix with a needleabout 1,85 m from the rope end.Mark 1 on the core (including intermediate cover) at 179 cm from therope end.BC1Cut intermediate cover at 1, removethe intermediate cover (from 1 tothe rope end) and fix the cut endwith adhesive tape.1BMark 2 on the core at 37 cm fromthe rope end.2B121

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSPull cover back as far as mark 2.Unravel cover as far as 1,5 cmbefore mark B.2CBTaper the cover: Cut off half theyarns at 1,5 cm before B, cutanother quarter of the yarns halfwayand taper the remaining yarns untilthe end.2BWind adhesive tape around taperedcover from marks B to 2.Pull cover back in place and fix atmark C with a needle.B2C13

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSJust behind the needle at C pullout the cover until mark 1 appears.Then fix with another needle.2BC1Insert the core end (behind mark 2)into the core next to mark C untilmark 1.C12BB1C14Pull core end out at mark 1 and taper along 30 cm: Remove 4 braidsat equal distances, cut them off andtaper the remaining rope end.

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSPull tapered core back (and evenout). The tip of the core must disappear inside the intermediate cover.Even out carefully!Fix connection of core and intermediate cover with adhesive near 1.B1CCPull core into cover. Mark B mustdisappear inside the cover.It is recommended to use a winchto pull really hard.BAdd a lock stitch by hand to makesure that the splice may not slipapart.See next page for the lock stitch.15

SPLICING INSTRUCTIONSLOCK STITCHBStep 1Pass stitching through spliced areanear throat of eye as shown.AStep 2Reinsert as shown pulling snug butnot tight.BA321BStep 3Continue to reinsert as shown untilyou have at least 3 completestitches.AStep 4Rotate spliced part of rope by 90 and reinsert end A into spliced areain the same way as in Steps 1, 2and 3. The splice will now be stitched in two planes perpendicular toeach other. Make sure you do notpull the stitching too tight.321BA16Step 5After stitching at least three complete stitches as in Step 3, extractboth ends A and B together throughthe same opening in the braid. Tiethem together with a square knotand reinsert back into braid. Fordouble braids, reinsert the knotbetween the cover and core.
