Accident & Health International (AHI)Accident & Health International Underwriting Pty Limited, ABN26 053 335 952, AFS Licence No. 238261 (AHI) is anunderwriting agency specifically created to provide PersonalAccident, Medical and Travel insurance. AHI acts on behalf ofTokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd, ABN 80 000 438291, AFS Licence No. 246548 (TMNF), with full authority toquote and issue contracts of insurance, collect premiums andpay claims.3.‘Insured Person’ means any person shown by name,classification or meeting the criteria specified for anInsured Person in the Policy Schedule for the insurancecover selected by the Insured and with respect to whothe premium has been paid. In this PDS:1.2.‘We’, ‘Our’, ‘Us’ meansa.Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd,ABN 80 000 438 291, AFS Licence No. 246548(TMNF) for all Benefits other than the LifeInsurance Benefit and the Financial CollapseBenefit, andb.AIA Australia Limited, ABN 79 004 837 861,AFS Licence no. 230043 for the Life InsuranceBenefit only. Cover for the Life InsuranceBenefit of the AHI Corporate Travel InsurancePolicy is provided through a group lifeinsurance policy issued by AIA AustraliaLimited (AIA), andc.Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, ABN 086083 605, trading as Liberty InternationalUnderwriters (LIU) for the Financial CollapseBenefit only which is issued and arrangedthrough their agent International PassengerProtection Limited.‘Insured’ means the person or company who is namedin the Policy Schedule as the Insured. The Insured is thecontracting party for this Policy.CT 23092019the Policy Wording document which sets out details ofthe Insured’s cover, applicable terms, conditions,limitations and exclusions; anda Policy Schedule, approved by Us, which sets out whois insured, the cover(s) selected, the Period ofInsurance, the limits of liability, excesses and otherimportant information. This is referred to as the PolicySchedule in this Policy document.The Policy and current Policy Schedule should be carefully readand retained by the Insured. These documents should be readtogether as they jointly form the contract of insurance betweenUs and the Insured. Any new or replacement Policy Scheduledetailing changes to the Policy or the Period of Insurance Wemay send to the Insured will become the current PolicySchedule, which should be carefully read and retained by theInsured.The Purpose of the CoverThis insurance is entered into with the Insured and providescover in relation to Insured Persons. In some cases, the Insuredmay also be an Insured Person.Insured Persons who are not the Insured are not parties to thecontract between Us and the Insured. This means an InsuredPerson cannot cancel or vary the Policy in any way (only theInsured can do this).Insured Persons who are not the Insured have a right to recovertheir loss in accordance with Section 48 of the InsuranceContracts Act. Section 48 states that Insured Persons have thesame obligations in relation to a claim made by them that theInsured would have to Us (for example, complying with claimsconditions such as subrogation) and may discharge theInsured’s obligations in relation to a loss. We have the samedefences to an action by an Insured Person as We would in anaction by the Insured.Where the Policy covers Insured Persons (other than theInsured), the Insured:1.2.3.is not Our agent;acts independently from Us in entering into thisinsurance to provide cover to Insured Persons; andis not authorised by Us to provide anyrecommendations or options about the insurance orother financial services to an Insured Person.Any notices of expiry, variation, avoidance or cancellation will besent by Us to the Insured. We will not provide any notices in6

relation to this insurance to the Insured Persons. The SumInsured for each is shown in the Policy Schedule. If the SumInsured shown in the Policy Schedule is 0.00 for a particularBenefit, no cover is provided under this Policy for that Benefit.The circumstances under which a claim is payable for each ofthese covers is detailed under “Benefits” in the Policy Wording.Age limits apply to this policy. No cover is provided for InsuredPersons who are not aged between the minimum and maximumage limits of the Policy at the time of an Event.Our Agreement with the InsuredIf We accept the application for cover, the Insured and InsuredPersons will be insured under this Policy for:1.loss or damage caused by one or more of the insuredevents set out in this Policy; andthe other Benefits, as set out in this Policy,2.during the Scope of Cover as shown on the Policy Schedule.This cover will be given on the basis:1.that the Insured has paid or agreed to pay Us thepremium for the cover the Insured selected when coverwas requested and which the current Policy Scheduleindicates is in force; andof the verbal and/or written information provided by theInsured to Us prior to inception of the Policy.2.Choosing the most suitable CoverCover is provided for the Insured (where the Insured is also anInsured Person) and the Insured Persons as set out in the PolicySchedule.It is important that the Insured makes sure that the Sum Insuredthey have selected for each Benefit provides sufficientprotection for their needs.Death and Capital BenefitsWeekly Injury BenefitWeekly Sickness BenefitBroken / Fractured Bones BenefitsAccidental HIV Infection Lump Sum BenefitChildcare BenefitComa BenefitCorporate Image Protection BenefitDependent Child Supplement BenefitDriver Services BenefitEducation Fund BenefitFamily Accommodation and Transport Expenses BenefitFinancial Advice BenefitHome and Vehicle Modification BenefitOrphaned BenefitPartner Accidental Death BenefitPartner Employment Training BenefitRetraining and Rehabilitation Expenses BenefitUnexpired Membership BenefitCT 230920191.2.The maximum age limit is shown in the Policy Scheduleagainst “Maximum Age Limit (sub limits may apply)”. If“Maximum Age Limit (sub limits may apply)” is notshown in the Policy Schedule, no maximum age limitapplies to the Policy.The minimum age limit is shown in the Policy Scheduleagainst “Minimum Age Limit (sub limits may apply)”. If“Minimum Age Limit (sub limits may apply)” is notshown in the Policy Schedule, no minimum age limitapplies to the Policy.Specific age limits may also apply to each Benefit included onthis Policy. Please refer to each Benefit for full details.The most We will PayThe Policy may include an Aggregate Limit of Liability which isthe most We will pay for all Benefits in any one Period ofInsurance under this Policy. If applicable, it is shown in thePolicy Schedule against “Aggregate Limit of Liability”. We mayalso include an Aggregate Limit of Liability for specific Benefitsor Events. If We include a specific Aggregate Limit of Liability for7

a Benefit or an Event, such limit will be shown in the PolicySchedule. The Aggregate Limit of Liability does not apply to thePersonal Liability Benefit or the Medical and Medical EvacuationExpenses Benefit if they are included on the Policy. In the eventthis limit is reached, the amount can be reinstated with Ouragreement and payment of the appropriate additional premium(plus any charges).Choosing a Sum InsuredIt is important that the Insured makes sure that the Sum Insuredthey have selected for each Benefit provides sufficientprotection for its needs or the Insured Persons' needs.Policy Cost and PaymentThe cost of the Policy will be shown on the quotation Weprovide, once We have received all required information tocomplete the quotation. The cost of the Policy is calculatedaccording to various risk indicators such as:- Age of Insured Persons- Occupation of Insured Persons- Activities undertaken during the Scope of Cover- Previous claims experience for this type of risk- Risk location- The Benefit Sum InsuredThe cost of the Policy is made up of premium, administrationfees and government taxes (such as Goods & Services Tax(GST) and Stamp Duty), where applicable.Renewal ProcedureBefore this Policy expires We will normally offer renewal bysending a renewal invitation advising the amount payable torenew this Policy. It is important that the Insured checks theinformation shown before renewing each year to be satisfiedthat the details are correct.Making a Claim and what is an Excess, Deferral Period and CopaymentsIf the Insured or Insured Person needs to make a claim, pleasesend a written notice of the claim to AHI within thirty (30)consecutive days of the date of the incident occurring or as soonas reasonably possible. AHI will provide a copy of the claimform which will need to be fully completed. We will not beresponsible for any payments under the Policy unless this formis fully completed and returned to AHI. Any costs involved in thecollection of information for the form are the responsibility ofthe Insured or Insured Person.At any time after a claim has been lodged We may conductenquiries into the circumstances of the claim. We may ask formedical examinations or, in the event of death, We may requestan autopsy. This will be done at Our expense.Any payments will be made in Australian (AUD) dollars unlessotherwise shown in the Policy Schedule.Once a payment is made under this Policy, We may attempt torecover the amount We have paid to the Insured or InsuredPerson if We find someone else is responsible for the loss ordamage. We will do this in the name of the Insured or InsuredPerson as applicable. We may also need to defend the Insuredor the Insured Person against allegations of loss or damage, inwhich case We require their full co-operation with Us at all times.Depending on the circumstances of the claim, an Excess orDeferral Period may apply, or the Insured or Insured Person maybe required to contribute to the cost of the claim as follows:1.2.3.Taxation ImplicationsThis Policy may be subject to a Goods & Services Tax in relationto premium.Depending on the location of the risk being insured, this Policymay be subject to Stamp Duty in relation to premium and GST.Excess - an Excess is the amount paid by the Insured orInsured Person when a claim is made.Deferral Period – a Deferral Period is the continuousperiod of time shown in the Policy Schedule duringwhich no Benefits are payable.Co-payments – a co-payment is an arrangement whereWe will reimburse a portion of an expense that hasbeen incurred leaving the remainder to be paid by theInsured Person.To see some example claims scenarios please visitwww.ahiinsurance.com.au/claims-examples .Cooling-OffDepending upon the Insured or Insured Person’s entitlement toclaim Input Tax Credits under this Policy, We may reduce thepayment of any claim by the amount of any Input Tax Credit.Any claim paid in respect of the Weekly Injury Benefit or WeeklySickness Benefit is subject to personal income tax. Where Weare required to do so, We will withhold personal income taxamounts from claim payments We make and forward theseamounts to the Australian Taxation Office on behalf of theInsured or Insured Person. Where required, We will provide theInsured a summary of the amounts withheld at the end of eachfinancial year.The Insured has a cooling-off period of twenty-one (21)consecutive days from the date on which the Policy was issuedto cancel the Policy. If the request is made to Us in writing tocancel the Policy within the twenty-one (21) consecutive days,We will cancel the Policy and provide a full refund of premiumless charges or taxes which we are unable to recover, providedneither the Insured nor any Insured Person has exercised a rightor power under the terms of the Policy in that period (e.g.Insured Person has started their Journey, the Policy has alreadyexpired or if any claim has been made under the Policy).Dispute ResolutionThe Insured and /or Insured Persons should consult anauthorised tax advisor if there are any questions that relate totheir particular circumstances.CT 23092019We and AHI will do everything possible to provide a qualityservice at all times. If there are any concerns or complaints8

about Our products or service, AHI staff are always available tolisten and help where possible.If, after speaking with an AHI staff member, the complaintremains unresolved to the Insured’s or Insured Person'ssatisfaction, the matter can be referred (either in writing orverbally) and reviewed through AHI’s Complaints and DisputeResolution Process, which is free of charge. Please contact theDisputes Resolution Manager (please see contact details for AHIin this Product Disclosure Statement). The process willundertake to provide an answer to the Insured or Insured Personwithin fifteen (15) consecutive business days, subject to allnecessary information being provided.If the Insured or Insured Person is not satisfied with the outcomeof the dispute resolution process or We cannot agree onalternative timeframe and would like to take the complaintfurther, the Insured may refer the matter to the AustralianFinancial Complaints Authority (AFCA), an external disputeresolution body, subject to eligibility. AHI will collect thisinformation directly from the Insured or Insured Person wherepossible, but there may be occasions when AHI collects thisinformation from a third party such as an insurance advisor.AHI will only use information for the purposes for which it wascollected, other related purposes and as permitted or required bylaw.
