Specific information regarding fellowships andother issues will be sent to all students via e-mail. All students are eligible for and should procure anaccount on the Academic Computing Service (ACS) campus host. The mission of the GSBS is to educate scientists who will contribute new knowledge to our understandingof biomedical processes through creative research and scholarship. GSBS offers programs leading to theDoctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (MS) and Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degrees. It has divisions on two campuses, with faculty drawn primarily from the medical schools at those locations:New Jersey Medical School and School of Dental Medicine in Newark, and Robert Wood Johnson MedicalSchool in Piscataway/New Brunswick;. The programs at the two divisions differ according to the researchinterests of the faculty and their academic structures and environments, but their common goal is tograduate biomedical scientists of the highest caliber. These schools are part of the Rutgers BiomedicalHealth Sciences (RBHS).On the Piscataway/New Brunswick Campus of GSBS at RWJMS, all PhD degrees are awarded jointly withthe Graduate School-New Brunswick. GSBS at RWJMS and Graduate School New Brunswick providePhD programs in the disciplines of Biochemistry; Biomedical Engineering; EnvironmentalSciences/Exposure Assessment; Cell and Developmental Biology; Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology;Microbiology and Molecular Genetics; Physiology and Integrative Biology; Neuroscience; and Toxicology.A combined MD/PhD program is also available on this campus offered jointly with Princeton Universitiesand a PharmD/PhD program with the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. GSBS at RWJMS also offersterminal Master of Science degrees which include the MS in Clinical and Translational Research (MSCTS), the Master of Biomedical Science (MBS) and the Master of Science in Biomedical Science (MSBS).A direct application MS degree is also offered by the Physiology and Integrative Biology Program and byspecial arrangement in all of the other programs offering the PhD.2
