This may cause damage tothe fabric.If the convertible top is operated above24 km/h (15 mph), there is a risk ofdamage to the convertible top.Do not attempt to open the convertibletop manually, as damage to the linkagemechanism may occur.WARNINGSBefore opening or closing theconvertible top, ensure that alloccupants have moved their hands,fingers, hair, etc. clear of moving parts.Do not place items on the tonneaupanel or over the Rollover ProtectionDevice covers.1. Ensure that the ignition is on.2. Ensure that the luggage separator in theluggage compartment is in the fullydeployed position. If it is not positionedcorrectly the proximity switches will notoperate and the convertible top will notopen.E91367The power operated convertible top and rearquarter windows, are controlled by the switchlocated on the overhead console. SeeELECTRIC WINDOWS (page 81). The ignitionsystem must be on. The top will latch andunlatch automatically.E913683. Press and hold the rear of the overheadconsole switch. (Do not release the switchuntil the top is fully open).The top can be operated at speeds below 24km/h (15 mph). However, for safety it shouldnot be opened or closed when the vehicle isbeing driven.CAUTIONSThe convertible top will not operateunless the luggage separator iscorrectly located in the deployed position inthe luggage compartment and that the luggagecompartment lid is firmly closed.110

RConvertible topConvertible top manual re-setWARNINGIt is advisable that two persons carryout this procedure, so that theconvertible top and tonneau cover arefully supported when required; although it ispossible that this procedure may be carriedout by one person with care.E913694. The rear quarter windows open, an audiblewarning sounds and the top unlatches andstarts to move. The tonneau closing panelopens (the front windows will fully open.The door window switch will require to bepressed to close the windows).To manually re-set the convertible top:Ensure that the engine is not running and thatthe ignition is off.E913705. When the top is fully open, the audiblewarning sounds again. The tonneauclosing panel is fully automated andencloses the convertible top in the stowedposition.6. Release the overhead console switch.Note: If at any period during the convertible topopening sequence the switch is released, allmovement of the convertible top will cease.CAUTIONDo not at any time during the opening orclosing of the convertible top, press theengine START/STOP button, as all movementwill cease and the convertible top will have tobe manually re-set.E91371Remove the Allen key from its stowed position,behind the rear seat centre section, by graspingthe sides of the section, as shown, and pullingsharply.111

LConvertible top12E91372From inside the luggage compartment, removethe vent screen to access the convertible topoperating pump.3E91374The convertible top and tonneau covermovement can cease in any of the positions 1,2 or 3, as shown.ABE91373Insert the Allen key into the pump and rotatecounterclockwise (approximately one turn).E91375If the movement ceases in position 1, releasethe tension in the convertible top cover andtension bow (rear of convertible top) by liftingthe front of the convertible top and pullingrearwards A.Lift the tension bow upwards B, and forwardsto clear the tonneau cover.112

RConvertible topPreparation for winterCBefore the onset of winter, it is advisable tocoat the convertible top seals and respectivebody seals with a compound, such as CarbafloKSP 105, to aid operation in freezingconditions.DThis action will need to be repeated at the startof each winter to maintain protection.Care must be taken so that the compound doesnot come into contact with the convertible topmaterial. For further advice you should contactyour Jaguar Dealer/Authorised Repairer.ELuggage separatorCAUTIONLuggage items should not be placedforward of or on top of the luggageseparator, as this could cause damage.E91376Lift the tonneau cover fully and support (C).Pull the convertible top rearwards anddownwards (D) so that it is fully stowed.Rest the tonneau cover in the closed position(E).If the movement ceases in either positions 2 or3, lift the tonneau cover fully upright andsupport (C), pull the front of the convertible toprearwards and downwards so that it is fullystowed (D).E91377Rest the tonneau cover in the closed position(E).A luggage separator is located in the luggagecompartment, to prevent items from movinginto the area where the convertible top isstowed.All positions: Once the convertible top hasbeen reset, turn the Allen key clockwiseapproximately one turn and return it to itsstowed position, refit the rear seat centresection, luggage compartment vent screen andclose the luggage compartment lid.When the convertible top is closed, the normalposition for the luggage separator is in theretracted position, with the partition positionedvertically.Switch on the ignition and start the engine.Press and hold the front of the convertible topswitch until the convertible top is closed andfully latched.If the convertible top requires to be open, pressand hold the rear of the switch.113

LConvertible topTo deploy the luggage separatorTo remove the luggage separatorCAUTIONDo not place large objects underneaththe luggage separator partition whendeployed as damage to the convertible topmay occur.1231E91378Pull the handle on the luggage separatortowards you. There is a lug on either side of theluggage separator: slide the lugs into thesliders on either side of the luggagecompartment. The luggage separator willpositively locate in the vertical position. Aproximity switch (1) is located in the separatorassembly, so that the convertible top will notopen and retract until the separator is in thefully deployed position.E91379With the luggage separator in the stowedposition, pull the handle towards you (1) anddisengage the lugs from the sliders (2).Holding the centre of the main body of theluggage separator, rotate upwards (3),disengaging the main body of the luggageseparator from the support brackets. Removethe luggage separator and retract thewithdrawn partition section of the luggageseparator into the main body.When selected, if the convertible top does notopen, check that the positioning of the luggageseparator is correct and ensure that theluggage compartment lid is firmly closed.114

RConvertible topCLOSING THE CONVERTIBLE TOPTo install the luggage separator1. Ensure that the ignition is on.22. Press and hold the front of the overheadconsole switch. See OPENING THECONVERTIBLE TOP (page 110). Do notrelease the switch until the convertible topis fully closed and latched and, if required,the rear quarter windows and front doorwindows are fully closed.133. If the front windows are in any otherposition than fully down, they will retract tothe fully down position on pressing theclosure switch. As the convertible topstarts to move, the audible warning willsound.44. When the top is fully closed and latched,the audible warning sounds again and therear quarter windows will close, followedby the front door windows returning to thefully closed position.E91380With the partition slightly extracted, positionthe luggage separator up to the supportbrackets, with the front edge raised. Ensuringthat for both sides, the catch (1) will engage inthe locating slot (2), rotate the main body of theluggage separator (3), so that it sits down intothe support brackets. Fit the partition lugs intothe sliders (4) and retract the luggageseparator partition into the normal stowageposition.Note: If at any period during the convertible topclosure sequence, the switch is released, allmovement of the convertible top will cease.115

LConvertible topManual closure of the convertible topIf necessary, the convertible top can be closedmanually, as follows:E913733. Insert the Allen key into the pump androtate counterclockwise (approximatelyone turn).E913834. Pull the tonneau release cable, until fullyextended. Close the luggage compartmentlid.E913711. Grasp the sides of the section, as shown,and pull sharply. Remove the Allen keyfrom its stowed position.E913722. From inside the luggage compartment,remove the vent screen to access theoperating pump.116

RConvertible topE913867. Ensure that the tension bow is fully raised.E913845. Fully open the tonneau panel. It willself-support when fully opened.21E913878. Supporting the tension bow, lower thetonneau panel (1). Then lower the tensionbow (2) onto the tonneau panel.E913856.
